Jim Schumann
An accomplished executive in the field of management consulting, Jim's success is largely attributable to the artful blending of his direct experience in large and small businesses with 18 years in strategic management consulting. Jim has led engagements involving a wide variety of business issues such as strategic planning, organization design and competency development. His work spans a variety of industries including discrete and process manufacturing, consumer and retail distribution and insurance.
Notable examples of Jim's work are two multi-year transformation efforts within a Fortune 100 firm focused on the following:
- Managed the collaborative development of the processes, competencies and organization structure required to deliver market and customer segment insights resulting in broad market share gains and increases in customer satisfaction.
- Led work with senior leaders across the globe to design and implement a new global operating model aimed at creating a flatter, market driven organization capable of greater speed in decisions and innovation delivery. This project provided a foundation for growth while reducing annual costs by over $37 million.
Jim earned his B.S. in biology from Bowling Green State University and a B.S. in industrial and systems engineering from The Ohio State University. He also holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Prior to consulting, Jim held leadership roles in several disciplines including sales, marketing, strategic quality, product support and business development. His work experience also spans diverse business cultures from a Fortune 50 to a Silicon Valley startup.
Jim resides in Connecticut with his wife and their four children. He enjoys competitive tennis, fishing and spending time with his family.
